The Health at Work Team have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Senior Occupational Health Specialist Nurse to join our friendly team to deliver a full range of evidenced based Occupational Health services to all staff. The successful candidate will need to be able to work as part of a Multidisciplinary team and on own initiative.
The team has a strong multidisciplinary approach to staff health and wellbeing, and the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and team skills to enhance these working relationships
The Occupational Health Senior Specialist Advisor will be responsible for delivering a full range of evidenced based Occupational Health services to all staff and provide impartial advice to Managers to enable them to meet their legal and statutory responsibilities reading the health and safety of their employees.
The role will be based at the Ealing site, however cover for Broadmoor site to cover annual leave and sickness will be required.
You must be a Registered General Nurse and possession of an Occupational Health Diploma/Degree is required. NHS experience is desirable but applicants without NHS experience will also be considered
Main duties of the job
As the senior occupational health advisor, you will provide advice on an individual’s fitness to work at both pre-employment and following sickness absence in line with organisational policies and departmental procedures and protocols. Writing to specialist for reports concerning an individual’s health (in line with General Data Protection Regulations 2018)
Successful candidate will need to have the ability to work under pressure and to organise own time, coping with unpredictable, unplanned changes in activity relating to accident/incidents at work (i.e. individual who may have sustained a body fluid exposure from a patient or who are suffering from the effects of stress at work)
The Senior occupational health advisor will represent the health at work team at Trust meetings.
The role requires the senior occupational health nurse to supervise junior staff.
