The Role
As a Teaching Fellow in Adult Nursing you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience across our BSc and MSc Adult Nursing Course
Based within the School of Health and Care you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include:
- Leading the curation, adaptation, design and development of module and course teaching materials.
- Teaching on modules and courses at HE levels 4,5,6 and 7 in relevant academic subject areas, and leading teams of teaching staff.
- Leading moderation and quality assurance of appropriate module assessment. Marking, including the oversight of marking teams; submission and upload of student marks within stipulated turn round periods and supporting colleagues in the presentation of data and information at appropriate meetings and committees as required.
- The preparation and dissemination of both generic and specific formative and summative student feedback. On at least an annual basis to review assessment and feedback processes and student communication loops on modules.
- Promote the Adult Nursing programme to potential applicants through various platforms such as open days, webinars and social media, provide information and advice to prospective students on the entry requirements, course structure and career prospects, and assist with the selection and admission process.
Qualifications Required
- NMC Registration in Adult Nursing (Current and Active) is essential for this role.
- An Honours Degree in an appropriate/ relevant subject area with professional qualification.
- A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held
- A PhD, or a Master's Degree would be advantageous.

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education or within the clinical practice setting levels 4-7 in Adult Nursing with high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
You will have a passion for sharing knowledge and supporting students in their learning journey, both in clinical practice and in the classroom, with the ability to work flexibly to meet learner needs.
