The majority of the work will be undertaken within the home environment of the client. There is an expectation that you will carry out tasks on your own unless otherwise specified. You will be supported by the keyworker as well as support from the supervision process.

There are also times when you can support the duty practitioner. This will involve supporting people who cannot access their keyworker and liaising with other services.

You should have a collaborative and enthusiastic approach as well as passion and commitment in delivering and promoting recovery based approaches for adults with mental health related needs.

As a STR worker you will have a caseload of service users with a range of complex needs. You will carry out support tasks directed from care plans that have been developed by the client and keyworker.

Within the CMHT we have found that the STR worker holds a vital role in building and retaining therapeutic relationships with clients. The post requires that you are a good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work. Display a genuineness to work with client’s needs which at times can be difficult and demanding.
