Mental Health Practitioner

We’re a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities we serve.

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic Lead Practitioners to contribute to the development of this established Community Mental Health Service for adults in Mid Sussex. We would welcome applications from newly qualified Band 5's to experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapists and Nurses.

Band 6:

You will need to have demonstrable skills and expertise in carrying out a variety of mental health needs assessments and be able to plan and execute interventions, both with individuals, their carer’s and groups. You will need to be clinically confident and competent in working with individuals in community settings and be able to work effectively in a multi-professional context. You should have collaborative and enthusiastic styles as well as having a passion and commitment to develop and promote service provision for adults with mental health related needs.

The post requires that you are good communicator and are able to adopt a flexible and proactive approach to your work. As well as providing specialist assessment and individual treatment within the service, you will be required to undertake all the duties associated with holding a diverse caseload.

You will be required to undertake new patient assessments working closely within a multi-disciplinary team, assuming care coordination responsibility and maintenance of quality data inputting.

You will also be able to run group treatments within our Psychosis, Personality Disorder or Affective Disorders integrated pathways.

Our forward looking and supportive Team will encourage you to develop your own specialist skills, knowledge and competence through participation, reflection, supervision and training and your development will be guided using the Trust's appraisal process. The post will be based in Haywards Heath.

Band 5:

The Mid Sussex Community Adult Mental Health Service has an excellent reputation for developing OTs and Nurses. You will be able to continue on your journey to becoming a confident and competent practitioner with the help and support of our multi-disciplinary team.

You will need to apply your past experience and training to demonstrate that you have a sound foundation to carry out a variety of mental health needs assessments and be able to plan and execute interventions, both with individuals, their carers and groups, with appropriate support.

The post requires that you are good communicator and are able to adopt a flexible and proactive approach to your work. As well as developing specialist assessment skills and delivering individual treatment interventions within the service, you will be supported to holding a caseload.

You will be supported to be able to carry out assessments working closely within a multi-disciplinary team, assuming Lead Practitioner responsibility and maintenance of quality data inputting.

You will also be able to contribute in the running of group treatments within our Psychosis, Personality Disorder or Affective Disorders integrated pathways.
