Are you an experienced critical care nurse, seeking a challenge? D There is now an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated nurse to join our management team.
Nottingham University Hospital is a major trauma centre, and the Children’s Critical Care unit works closely with the Emergency Department in providing front line care for trauma patients. Nottingham Children's Hospital Critical Care provides an essential service for Neurology/Neurosurgical; Spinal/Orthopaedic; Oncology/Haematology; Respiratory; General Surgery and Rheumatology. The hospital is also the provider of paediatric renal services for the region, which allows staff on the unit to be actively involved with kidney transplants and haemofiltration.
We care for Critical Care and high dependency patients, and link with a newly established long term ventilation team. The unit has an established retrieval service lead by our retrieval coordinator and is very active in research trials with a dedicated research nurse. The unit works very closely with Nottingham university in providing teaching for various courses and providing placements for students.
The unit runs an active foundation programme for newly qualified staff and the Children’s Hospital has an established rotation programme.
• You must be an RSCN or RN Child qualified nurse with substantial experience of working in a
Paediatric Critical care setting as a Band 5 nurse.
• You must have a recognised Critical Care and Teaching qualification or currently undertaking the Critical care course.
• You must be able to lead a team, demonstrating excellent organizational and clinical skills.
You will be expected to deputise and co-ordinate care on the Unit in the absence of a Band 7 Sister.
You will also be expected to participate, after training, in taking the Paediatric Bed Management bleep for Children's Hospital.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
