An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Medical Unit at Whiston Hospital for dynamic staff nurses to join the team of highly motivated and committed nursing staff on Ward 1C.

We are seeking enthusiastic nurses, with a passion for excellence within the delivery of patient care. Post qualifications experience will be an advantage, however a period of preceptorship will be available to the successful candidate and all dynamic and proactive nurses are invited to apply.

The AMU offers a supportive working environment alongside opportunities to develop individual clinical competence. These are ideal posts for newly qualified members of staff who wish to get a board spectrum of experience at the start of their nursing career.

Whether you are newly qualified, about to qualify or experienced nurse, making the transition from community nursing to acute care you will be supported by the Trust, to make the transition as a Registered Nurse, into whatever acute setting you are offered a position in the department’s skills mix and complex patients are the premises for enhancing your career and acquire transferable skills for most of the nursing specialities.

The clinical teams are there to support you in your new role and there is a 12 month Preceptorship Programme; that provides you with additional training, support and a competency based workbook to help you in your development.

-comprehensive induction and a 12 month preceptorship with dedicated Practice Education facilitators based on site

A flexible approach to the working environment is an essential requisition for this post as they will be expected to rotate to both days and nights.

The post holder will be expected to deliver care of the highest standard and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.

This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for vulnerable adult’s and children’s disclosure).
