Midwifery Ultrasound Practitioner

Band 7

Job overview

As part of our antenatal pathways improvement programme, our maternity service is looking for a Midwifery Ultrasound Practitioner to join their proactive team.

This role will provide an excellent environment to support you to combine both midwifery practice and your ultrasound skills, providing high quality holistic care to women and birthing people.

Our vision is to deliver the highest standard of care and support for women, birthing people, babies and families across the region.

Main duties of the job

The role will include providing planned antenatal midwifery care alongside third trimester ultrasound scans for women and birthing people who have been identified as having a moderate risk factor for fetal growth restriction.

The role will also involve undertaking third trimester ultrasounds for women and birthing people who require an ultrasound scan following a community midwifery appointment or maternity triage attendance.   This may also provide an excellent development opportunity for you to practice midwifery within the triage setting as part of an inspiring and committed team.

Working for our organisation

In return, we can offer you a job role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA means we can provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can always be moving in the right direction. By joining us you can also access a competitive benefits package, including, a fantastic annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities, helping you to achieve more personal downtime and a better work-life balance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Midwife in the UK.

Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. To learn more about how you can gain a full NMC PIN to be eligible to apply for our vacancies in the future, please see the NMC website:  https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/joining-the-register/register-nurse-midwife/trained-outside-uk/how-to-guide/
