This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Brent Home Treatment & Rapid Response Team. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and clinically confident individual, to compliment our highly skilled multidisciplinary team. You should have a genuine interest in working with acute mentally ill service users from a culturally diverse population. You will possess an Registered Mental Nurse qualification, significant experience as a Registered Mental Nurse with emphasis on community or acute in -patient care, and evidence of continuing professional development. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be capable of problem solving and working well under pressure within a 24-hour, 7 days a week rota.

You will need to be creative and flexible and able to work on your own initiative. There is a strong emphasis on positive risk taking, risk assessment and management; we pride ourselves on effective treatment and intensive support. You should have strong leadership skills and be able to manage a caseload of service users, co-ordinate the work of the team and act as supervisor for junior staff members. You should also be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary setting and be competent in developing strong links with other professionals.

In return, we can offer excellent group and individual supervision and support, and CPD opportunities. Learning and reflecting as a group, is also an important ongoing process for our service. Working with the team managers, you will be pivotal in leading and supporting staff in the decisions making around service users in crisis.

You will require a full driving license and preferably have access to a car.
The Brent Home Treatment & Rapid Response Team is based at Park Royal Centre for Mental Health. We provide a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year intensive home treatment service for residents of Brent and also an assessment function to the A&E department of Central Middlesex Hospital. We are a friendly and forward-thinking service, keen to provide opportunities for all our staff to develop to their full potential and to participate in our on going improvements. All permanent staff in the team are given the opportunity to undertake a nursing degree or other equivalent professional development.
