Clinical Skills Supervisor - Interventional Radiology

Band 6

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to apply for the position of Clinical Skills Supervisor role within the IR department. As a clinical skills supervisor, you will have a pivotal role in implementing, supporting and monitoring clinical education, by assessing competence and ensuring progression and teaching and training in the clinical setting. Primarily you will work in partnership with Matron, Charge Nurse and Deputies in collaboration with the education team in the development of the IR Nurses, Operating Department Paractitioner's (ODP) and Assistants.

You must be a Registered ODP or Registered Nurse and be in possession of a post registered mentorship qualification. An Anaesthetic qualification is desirable but not essential. Also, IR theatre experience at band 6 or senior band 5 with evidence of experience in education and practice development initiatives is desirable but not essential for the CSS role. You must have the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.

This is a six months secondment post initially.
