Neonatal Nurse

NHS AfC: Band 5

Job overview

The NICU at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit motivated and passionate band 5 nurses; Neonatal experience is desirable though not essential as full training and support would be provided. You will work as a member of the Neonatal Unit delivering quality, evidence-based care to neonates.

You will be responsive to the needs of parents using a family centred approach.

Applications from overseas Nurses

The Trust appreciates and values the contribution international nurses bring to the NHS. We also understand the support overseas nurses need to gain full registration once in the UK (via OSCE) and therefore we only recruit internationally to fill nursing vacancies when we can ensure support is in place. At this present time we aren’t in a position to offer that support and therefore will not accept applications from overseas nurses who only have Part 1 NMC registration. If that position changes in future we will clearly advertise our opportunities for international nurses to join our nurse team here in Bolton. Thank you for your understanding.

Main duties of the job

We are a well established level 3 unit providing a high quality service to the local neonatal network and beyond.  The unit’s current cot configuration is 16 ITU/HDU and 19 SC cots. We have a team of highly dedicated consultants and nurses who work collaboratively to deliver high quality care to our patients and families.

Successful candidates would be supported with individualised local induction and a place on the Neonates North West Programme, dependent on prior experience. Further development would be supported as appropriate.

Successful candidates will be subject to appropriate disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We are looking for people who share our four core Trust values, which are: ‘Putting the Patient at the Heart of Everything I Do’ delivering care and service as I would expect to receive myself, ‘Valued’ – no matter what my role is I will strive to provide a quality service, ‘Respected’ – I will treat others as I expect to be treated myself, and ‘Proud’ – I will demonstrate a ‘can and will do’ attitude to my work remaining focussed on solutions rather than problems. If this sounds like you, then we would love to receive your application.

Working for our organisation

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provide services across the north west side of the Greater Manchester area ranging from hospital services in Bolton to community services across Bolton, Salford, Ashton, Leigh and Wigan.  We are a progressive, expanding organisation with great ambition around improving quality, integrating pathways and delivering high levels of productivity.  Over 5,700 people work for the Trust and many of them have been here a long time. People find they don’t need to go elsewhere to find a fulfilling career in healthcare.  The Trust offer a range of flexible working patterns to enable our staff to balance their work and personal life.

The Family Division aims to deliver the highest standards of care for maternity, sexual health, gynaecology and a range of acute and community children’s services. The Division is a Centre of Excellence for Women’s and Children’s services and has a credible and enviable reputation.

Our Trust is a great place to work and we are keen to ensure that all our employees have the right values in order that we can provide the best service to our patients. These values are very important to us, and as a potential candidate you should be made aware that we test for these throughout the whole assessment/recruitment and selection process, and will only interview and recruit individuals who demonstrate these values through their application and behaviour.
