Spire Harpenden Hospital, part of the award winning Spire Healthcare Group, is situated in Harpenden, central Hertfordshire, close to the Bedfordshire border.
It is a premium private hospital consisting of 79 beds and 5 main theatres. providing a range of treatments to patients in the local area.

We employ over 300 staff including nurses, radiographers, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, administrators, housekeepers and porters. We work with consultants from all the local hospitals to offer the best care possible.

Spire Harpenden Hospital is a short drive from Luton and St Albans, and 30 minutes from Dunstable, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford and Welwyn Garden City. Good public transport links exist between St Albans and Luton and Spire Harpenden Hospital.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and committed Theatre Nurse/ODP to work with our friendly operating theatre team in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit. If you are a Theatre Nurse/ODP looking for a role where you can build a diverse range of clinical skills this is the place for you, as we provide a very wide range of surgical procedures, ranging in complexity and acuity. Our theatre teams also work closely with some of the region's leading consultants and are exposed to the latest innovative, evidence -based clinical techniques. Our real driving force is our ability to invest in our people, as we support our Theatre Nurses and ODPs to build their skills through mentoring and formal training such as ALS or ASP.

We prefer our theatre staff to be as multi-skilled as possible, so ideally you will be able to work across scrub, anaesthetics and/or recovery, but many of our staff specialise in just one or two areas. Most important is that our Theatre Nurses/ODPs are experienced in a variety of surgical procedures, or are willing to learn new procedures and techniques under expert supervision. We are keen to promote from within the Spire network, so if you are looking for a long term career with advancement opportunities you will find them at Spire. A number of our Theatre Nurses/ODPs have gone on to secure Theatre Team Leader and Theatre Manager posts and we are very keen to encourage these ambitions.

Salary: £Negotiable (equivalent to NHS Bands 5-6)
