The Complex Needs Service is a community based specialist challenging behaviour service working with children and adults with learning disabilities and behaviour that challenges services. We currently have a vacancy for a Band 5 learning disability nurse to work as a Behaviour Analyst within the team. The successful applicant will be expected to have post qualifying experience of working with people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

This service is underpinned by the key principles of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS). The role of the Behaviour Analyst (BA) is to work alongside Band 7 link practitioners into Community Learning Disability Teams, working directly with service users and their families/carers. The Behaviour Analyst will conduct behavioural assessments to determine the underlying functions of challenging behaviour, devise multi component intervention plans, that are values led, enhancing competences in the teaching of new skills, leading to improvements in quality of life.

The post holder would be a member of the Complex Needs Service which works across BCUHB. Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
