Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medicine division. You will be supporting the delivery of 7 day working for inpatient Diabetes Nurse provision at Colchester Hospital.
The diabetes team work 7 days per week (including weekends and bank holidays) to provide expert diabetes nursing care to inpatients. We have a close working relationship with our community based MDT, supporting GP’s and district nurses. The inpatient diabetes nurse will need to have a working knowledge of the acute management of diabetes in all specialist areas involved.

Please note , there are two positions available:
- Full time until January 2025
- Full time until June 2025
Internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only.
Main duties of the job
You will be based within the in-patient setting and have a close working relationships with our out-patient and community based nursing team colleagues.
We offer secondary care services to patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as well as covering specialist areas of Diabetes in pregnancy, Diabetes related renal disease and also have a substantial amount of patients using insulin pump therapy.
You will therefore need to have a working knowledge of the acute management of diabetes in all the specialist areas involved.

Experience

- • Proven post registration experience
