The services we provide:

Children’s Inpatient, Day Care, Assessment and Outpatients

Our Children’s inpatient services provide compassionate care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years of age across two busy sites, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital. The units provide care for a mixture of specialties and for a wide range of conditions including High Dependency Care.

The unit’s encompass inpatient, day care and assessment services for our communities. We also have dedicated Children’s Out-Patient departments on both sites. This ensures a rich variety of experiences and development for our staff.

Emergency Department

To ensure that the Children and Young People within our communities receive the best possible care when visiting our Emergency Departments we are now working in collaboration with our Emergency colleagues to provide Children’s leadership and emergency care with dedicated Children’s nurses 12 hours a day.

- Various in-house leadership programmes
- PLS and opportunity to complete APLS
- Support from Practice Development Team

We use E-Rostering which offers many benefits to our employees and allows a more accessible Off Duty and easier requests system, making annual leave requests, possible from the comfort of your own home.

Anyone newly appointed to the Trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
