An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to support the ward manager with the management and leadership of Pendennis Ward. We are looking to recruit a forward thinking, dynamic senior staff nurse for our 23 bedded surgical ward.
Main duties of the job
The right candidate must have the vision and skills support junior staff to maintain and deliver the highest standard of care whilst continuing to meet the demands of a very busy service as a priority.
Pendennis Ward is an acute emergency surgical ward. We look after all specialties but mainly colorectal. We have high acuity and often receive patients out of ICU. Our patients have a lot of complex needs which we require to take on additional clinical skills.
We are a well established management team and look forward to welcoming and supporting a new addition to the team.
This will provide the right candidate a diverse and fast paced discipline of nursing to work within, with many learning opportunities for all the staff. Our patients are treated with a multi-professional approach; therefore, the successful candidate must show a good understanding of the dynamics of working within a multidisciplinary to maximise patient outcome and experience. It is essential to demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills whilst maintaining a positive outlook and working environment to maximise productivity.

- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.

- Assessing & Mentoring qualification
- NVQ Assessors course
Experience

- Significant post-registration experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in the relevant specialty
- Experience of supervising and assessing students
- Previous Ward Leadership experience
Skills
Essential criteria
- Good time management and teaching skills
- Ability to work well both in a team and on own initiative
