An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic leader who can evidence personal and professional development and who has extensive experience in service improvement and recent Critical Care Unit experience in management to apply for the post of ITU 3 Ward Manager within the Critical Care Directorate.

The post holder will demonstrate an ability to lead a team and the role will epitomise the promotion and facilitation of good practice to ensure the delivery of high standard, quality, safe patient care. The post holder will possess proven people management skills, exercising a high degree of diverse and effective communication and professional judgement across the disciplines.

There will be an expectation for the successful candidate to make best use of resources within the Directorate whilst developing excellence in practice. They will act as a clinical and professional role model to all members of staff.

The post holder will have shared responsibility for leading management and clinical practice by means of an innovative approach to work related issues. They will act as a clinical expert utilising well grounded academic skills to lead the Directorate forward. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced specialist skills and knowledge, whilst assuming professional responsibility and accountability in the assessment and treatment of patients in their care.

Qualifications

  • Current NMC Registration
  • STEPS 1-3 qualification in specialist training in Critical Care
  • Evidence of recent CPD
  • Recognised teaching certificate

Knowledge

  • Evidence of further professional development
  • An awareness of Government Documents / Policies in relation to changes within the National Health Service
  • Demonstrates an awareness of clinical governance and risk management.

Experience

  • Significant experience working as a Band 6 RN/ODP in an acute hospital theatre setting.
  • Evidence and experience of positive leadership skills and the ability to transform and lead a team to work effectively together.
