An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time Support Workers to join the Early Intervention Service. This will involve working with children, young people and their families who have a Learning Disability and who exhibit behaviour that challenges those around them using Positive Behaviour Support Approaches.

This will take the form of both individual and group work in addition to working with professionals from a range of other disciplines, for example Health, Education, Social Services and the Third Sector under supervision from the Lead Clinical Psychologist and/or Team Lead. This role may be suitable for people who are interested in becoming an assistant psychologist or furthering their career in other allied health care professions i.e. nursing, occupational therapy and/or social work.

The aim of the service is to help reduce behaviour that challenges at the same time as improving quality of life for the people we work with.

We are looking to appoint two full-time Band 4’s (37.5 hours). However, job share or part time hours will be considered.

The Service has close links with the Adult Learning Disability Services and the successful candidates will be initially based within one of the four Community Teams based in Haverfordwest. Llandysul, Carmarthen and/or Llanelli depending on service need and applicant's preference'.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
