Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious Children’s Nurses to join our Paediatric High Dependency Unit. We are looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the team at Glangwilli Hospital. Located in Carmarthen, the 3 bedded Paediatric High Dependency unit (PHDU) has been set up to provide level 1 treatment to children and young people from 0-18yrs in a dedicated paediatric area.
We are committed to the provision of high quality evidence based practice to meet the needs of children, young people and parents while ensuring we provide family centred care as close to home as possible. The work is varied and offers opportunities to develop a broad range of specialised skills working within multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partnerships. We provide an excellent service to meet the needs of children and families. The PHDU is located on the 30 bedded acute general paediatric ward and there is also an 8 bedded PACU within the ward setting.
We offer good opportunities to accumulate paediatric nursing skills within a friendly, supportive and encouraging team. A caring attitude is essential with good written and oral skills. You must be able to manage your time effectively. Hywel Dda University Health Board supports all staff in their lifelong learning. This is a permanent full time position although part time hours will be considered.
Applicants need to be RSCN/Child Branch trained with relevant NMC registration and have at least 18 months post registration experience or hold the HDU qualification.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
