West 5 is a 29 bedded elective orthopaedic ward, specialising in caring for patients following spinal surgery. The ward also caters for a range of other elective orthopaedic patients undergoing a variety of elective surgery – hip, knee arthroplasty etc. The Directorate of Trauma and Orthopaedics has in excess of 30+ Consultant surgeons which makes the unit a busy, but challenging environment to work. The existing team are motivated and enthusiastic to developing new ways of working and work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Practice and service development are well embedded into nursing practice and the team are motivated in taking new initiatives forward.
We are seeking an experienced nurse with Trauma and Orthopaedic experience who can demonstrate the essential criteria, and who has a track record of leading and managing a team. It is essential that the candidate has experience in taking the lead on change, is able to inspire and motivate others.
