Senior Dental Nurse - Special Care

Salary:                         £28,407 - £34,581 per annum pro rata

                                      (actual £17,044.20 - £20,748.60)

Our team in Bedfordshire are looking for an experienced Special Care Dental Nurse to work in multi-disciplinary teams and support the treatment of patients who are unable to accept routine dental care due to some physical, intellectual, medical, emotional, sensory, mental or social impairment or a combination of these factors.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside the Clinical Leads for Special Care Dentistry to develop the Community and Special Care Dental Service and will provide support for dental operators including dentists undergoing specialty training. 

You will need good organisational skills, and good oral and written communication skills. NEBDN Certificates in Special Care Dental Nursing and Dental Sedation Nursing are essential for this role (or you must be able to achieve these qualifications within the first two years of employment).  Certificates in Topical Fluoride Application and Dental Radiography would be an advantage.

The post holder will undertake a clinical lead of dental nurses, including training and supervision, in various clinical settings across Bedfordshire; therefore, access to a car is essential.
