Deputy Team Leader Anaesthetics

Spire Edinburgh Hospitals is one of the largest private hospitals in the UK and the busiest surgical hospital in the Spire Healthcare group. The hospital is at the forefront of technology in the independent sector, regularly pioneering new surgical techniques such as robotic surgery. Spire Edinburgh Hospitals are made up of Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Spire Shawfair Park Hospital and the Spire Livingston Clinic. Combined, our facilities include 8 operating theatres (including a Laser and a Cardiac Catheterisation suites), 73 single private rooms, 10 day-case beds and an oncology suite plus all the supporting services such as MRI and CT imaging, physiotherapy, Pharmacy and Pathology.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our small friendly team at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals.

You will be working within the anaesthetic team that provides planned care for patients requiring anaesthetic for surgical procedures which includes general, regional, local and sedation anaesthetic. You will be able to provide clinical and professional leadership to the Anaesthetic Team whilst promoting the safe guarding, well-being and interest of all patients, consultants, employees and visitors.

Our team works closely with some of the region's leading Consultants and are exposed to the latest innovative, evidence -based clinical techniques. Our real driving force is our ability to invest in our people, as we support our clinical teams to build their skills through mentoring and formal training.

Main responsibilities:
Work alongside the Team Leader and deputising in their absence
To provide exemplary planned care for patients whilst managing a team
Ensure the team delivers effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership •Develop and improve services and quality
Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices
Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members and to liaise with other departments
Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information
Undertake Human Resource activities for all team members including regular performance and annual reviews
Working hours:
37.50 hours on a shift rota within a six day period
Qualifications and training:
Essential - Registered Nurse with NMC Registration
Desirable - experience in leading a team
Essential Knowledge and Technical Ability:
Competence across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge
Possess mandatory training requirements including infection control and health and safety competencies
Maximising people and financial resources whilst maintaining a safe clinical environment
IT knowledge
Business Development skills
Root cause analysis
Dedicated to the provision of delivering first class patient care

Salary: £28000 - £32000 per annum
