A part time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Health Care Assistant to join the team within the Neurosciences department. The role will be based within ward F4 – Spinal at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). 

The 22 bedded unit encompasses both emergency trauma and elective surgery. If you have a real passion for nursing and you are looking for an exciting, fast moving clinical field to develop your skills and you feel you can make a positive contribution to this exciting service, we’d love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for.

You will need to have a level 3 qualification in healthcare or equivalent.

If you have proven experience in a caring role, an understanding of the acute hospital environment we would like to hear from you. You will need to be hard working, with a compassionate and caring personality, enjoy working with people and want to make a difference to the patient’s journey with us.

  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Numeracy skills and Literacy skills at level 2 (or equivalent)

  • Keyboard skills.
  • Experienced and competent in additional clinical skills.

Previous or relevant experience

  • Proven experience in a caring role.
  • Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of SHCA
